    Greening House

There was an interesting article recently in The Dallas Morning News about the steps you can take to ensure your home is truly green amidst the growing interest in environmentally friendlier building  (See How 'Green' a Home Really Is by Kate Goodloe). It also talks about the U.S. Green Building Council's plan to start a program this fall to certify homes. The Council's existing LEED certification program is "considered the standard for green building in commercial projects" (Patagonia's distribution center in Reno, Nevada was awarded a gold rating). If you have plans to build a new home - or even buy or rent a greener one - this article is worth checking out.
